WTF is that? Are the agents supposed to collect taxes from people’s bags of gold like the Sheriff of Nottingham did in Robin Hood’s days?

I am not arguing that there is no need for protective tariffs.
My argument is that tariffs will not raise sufficient revenue to feed the government leviathan.
FAIRtax will, at first. HST, after FAIRtax is in effect, the need for government revenue will decrease.
AND, FAIRtax rate will go down!
I am ok with it. I dont think you realize the breadth of the job. Al Capone was a gangster. Gangs and drug dealers dont pay taxes. That could be an IRS case. Same for postal inspectors. Those guys carry guns too. They do raids all the time. They’re up against the same drug dealers who dont pay taxes, people who put bombs or poison in the mail, etc.
Ask yourself the question, what is he there for? If it is to arrest you, the Sheriff / deputies can do that. So why the gun for the IRS to review tax papers. It is not needed and only serves to escalate the situation.
Chilling “... willing to use deadly force...”
The Democrat IRS overkill might just be the “tipping point” we FAIRtaxers need to REALLY advance the FAIRtax legislation, Principled!

EVERYBODY will pay the FAIRtax!
Gangs, drug dealers, criminals, hookers, madams, prostitutes, pimps, illegal aliens, etc. etc. ALL denizens of the “underground economy” have to buy retail goods and services.
When they get to the checkout counter, they will pay the FAIRtax!
FAIRtax is a retail sales tax, and ALL retail sales of new goods will be taxed! Used goods are not taxed.
It would surely be a bold move for Trump to make!

During the Obama administration, there were lots of questions being asked (but no answers) concerning the volumes of weapons and ammo being purchased by so many different departments of the federal government. I guess we see the answer now.
