For sure — we’re talking about concentrated populations. The highest-crime zip code in Austin is plurality hispanic, with 20% black. When people geographically disperse they culturally disperse. High-crime urban black America is racially concentrated and culturally homogenous.
I think it’s what I though, NOLA is nasty.
Actually I am in St Augustine but we frequent Jax for shopping and India restaurants. Yes I have heard there are some bad areas in JAX but surrounding areas still look good.
I love driving on A1A to shop at Trader Joe’s. Wish we had one of those in St Aug. Our county is St John’s and it has the highest average income of all counties in Florida and it shows in how nice it is here. They are building new subdivisions like crazy and traffic is getting worse every year. Big change from when we moved here in 2016.

If I ever move back to Florida, it will be to St. Augustine. I love that town. Its not disgustingly overcrowded and is still the real Florida. Flagler college, the Lighthouse, the Bridge of Lions, the Castillo de san Marcos, that bar with the water wheel where you can sit outside on the 2nd story and listen to live music, the Columbia, Maria’s over the water....I LOVE it.
