I am being completely serious. We should donate a couple of bucks to Liz Cheney's campaign, especially if you don't donate to other republican campaigns ... and if you have deep pockets, you should donate the max to her. I'll tell you why.

Cheney is absolutely going to lose in the upcoming primary by shameful amounts. Probably she will set records for an incumbent not facing jail time losing in a primary. Everyone knows this except for idiots and true believers, both groups are incredibly valuable resources for sussing out the next round of anti-Trump candidates.

A campaign donor in one campaign has his or her name and contact info passed along in a list of "potential donors" that is shared among friendlies. If you donate once, you're on a list of willing patsies for years if not decades. You can be that early warning siren months ahead of time that someone is only pretending to be who they say they are.

Those people also get invites to events and insider information about candidates that the general public doesn't catch wind of early. Imagine being the lone camera footage of a 'secret' gathering of anti-Trump republicans because you were invited into one of their private frundraisers.

Imagine the fun that a $50 donation could net you if you had that type of scratch to spare. Could be awesome.

Excellent point. Years ago I sent a small amount of money to the famine relief organization Oxfam, because of the disaster in Cambodia from the Pol Pot situation. Around that same time I gave a small donation to the local PBS station. I began getting letters from various left wing organizations. I think I also got letters from Democrat politicians. Not sure which of those donations triggered it. Even though I was a liberal then I found it rather disconcerting.
