My first thought upon reading the headline. I figured someone would have quoted this. Well done.

silk - well we can cover the planet in mulberries and the elite can enjoy their silk undies. The peasants will go naked, but they can eat high protein cake made from bugs

I heard the silkworm pupa, after the cocoon is boiled, is good in stir-fry.

they gambled that they tamed the Russian Bear as its slave.

If the Iraq/Afghan/Ukraine trifecta had paid off we would be in the clover. Another day another dollar.

More Really Good timing with their idiots in charge!

Travis McGee, Thanks for posting the great economic reality for the ETU, Euro Trashy Union versus Russia. Also, a reality lesson versus Yale B$ and our MMS B$ers.

Oktoberfest may be AXED due to Putin gas crisis, and Bavarian breweries told to stop making BEER as it's revealed Germans must pay £1,000-a-year 'gas surcharge' ON TOP of bills and Hanover turns off hot water!

Germany could be forced to scrap Oktoberfest celebrations and its famous Christmas markets as officials desperately search for ways to save energy after Russia began throttling gas supplies to Europe.

Hanover, yesterday became the first major city on the continent to announce it will turn off all hot water in public buildings to conserve energy, while Berlin has begun dimming streetlights and Augsburg has turned off public water fountains.

This is what they get for not stringing up their “leaders” for the Covid reaction.

Their navy is weaker than the Emirati navy. If they tried to block the straits then the Emirates by themselves would defeat them

Nope “Europe “ doesn’t.

Grill have a lot of pain, but no one is going to freeze to death.

There are enough supplies to prevent that, both from Norway and the USA.

Furthermore southern and central Europe bar Germany don’t have that problem.

And France gets 70% of its energy from nuclear power

Ok,that first graphic resembles Putin's regime. The second is just false

note that oil and gas consist of a small percentage. Out of that small percentage Russia supplied one third until 2019, and 20% before Putin's invasion of Ukraine.

there will be pain, but it is not shooting in the foot. Shooting in the foot was trusting Putin as Germany under Gerhard Schroeder and Angela Merkel did.

It won’t dry.

Get a new Samsung one. They are low priced, use a fraction of the electricity your old one does, and are quieter

And you’ve been and will continue to be wrong.

Nord stream 2 is not going to open.

Nord stream one was running until Russia lost the technical skills to maintain it.

Instead of cheaper Putin gas, Germany is going to have to drill and use coal. And more nuclear power stations

Thanks for your charts, info, data and polite manner/style.

“Instead of cheaper Putin gas, Germany is going to have to drill and use coal. And more nuclear power stations!”

Can Germany respond before a couple of brutal winters?

Thanks again for sharing the data.

“Can Germany respond before a couple of brutal winters?”

I don’t know.

Berlin freeper would know the situation in Germany far better than I could even guess.

I’ll know when it’s winter?

Couple of days ago I saw the first sign of an energy issue. I was at a department store that had a pair of escalators at each end of the place. One of each pair was shut down with a note that read: Escalator is not broken. It has been turned off to save energy. No one was complaining as far as I could tell.

Thanks, Please keep us posted. Real life instances reported on FR like the escalators’s reality are what is believable in our crazy world today!
