They were conducting ethnic cleansing and artillery strikes on that area on civilians. It’s long established under international law that this was ok to kill the ones doing it. Lugansk and Donetsk both declared independence and asked an ally for military assistance.
This is precisely what we did in Kosovo, and what we are doing right now in half of Syria. I guess it’s a bitch to get back what you give out.
