These days, presidents are most often only symbolic commanders in chief, who sign off on whatever actions need to be taken according to military leaders.

Besides, if you do One China (as we have embraced along with Russia) then the Government of China (The CCP) has every right to veto Nancy’s trip. It would be like the Governor of Texas inviting Putin to Austin over Biden’s objections. Get this though your heads—Russia and China are allies now. Expect them to support one another. When China invades Taiwan—their will be fueled by Russian Oil. If they get into trouble with the USN, The Russian Navy will be there to help them. If WW III Happens, and they win—Alaska will be given to Russia as a prize.
