"So, the Democrat again work to change long standing rules to their perceived benefit."

"The bipartisan group of 16 senators, nine Republicans and seven Democrats, led by Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, and including Trump ally Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C..."

...along with the rest of the traitor Rinos.

So what Trump wanted to do was legal and not lawless.

I am sure that this will facilitate illegal balloting. That’s the only reason that Dems ever tamper with election laws.

Weird, the current law being used, the Electoral Count Act, which was passed in 1887, seems to have plenty of effect despite not being a constitutional amendment.
@@@@@@@@@@

There have been no electoral college challenges to invoke the law since it was passed. 2020 was the test and Pence punted. Had he used the authority of the VP under the constitution there would have been a challenge under the law and its Constitutional standing would have come before the court.

The Congress may pass laws that violate the constitution at any time and without a SCOTUS challenge the rights of the people are destroyed. This is why Roe has continued to be challenged until overturned.

TPTB always try to find a way around our “Government of the people, by the people, for the people” in order to make it perish from the earth.

No law codified by congress can change the Constitution. It may only be changed by the process of Costitutional Amendment. Codification by congress falls well short of that.....

According to Pence lovers, he followed the law which guaranteed ‘democracy’.

If everything was fine, why does it need to be changed to protect ‘democracy’? They can’t have it both ways……either Pence followed the law or he didn’t.

“ The fact that they want to codify this into law tells you that they all know the VP’s role is not simply ceremonial.”

Bingo!

“ They need to do it for all of those people who can’t read the 12th Amendment and the law governing the counting of electoral votes and who somehow think that the Vice President has any power to interfere with the count. His role is ceremonial, always has been.”

————————

If that is the case, are they merely copying the 12th amendment? No amendment change is needed if that is already stated……right?

Full disclosure, I know little about the 12th amendment, I only know that most of DC are lying power-hungry sociopaths that trigger my cynicism anytime they seek ‘changes’ to anything in the constitution or bill of rights.

Yep!

They word it like Trump was an ass to object to their election
shenanigans, and of course this is only being done to fix that
problem. LOL.

Our team will help them screw us again.

Linda, MooCow, Portman, Romeny, Sasse, Coons and Murphy - Sounds like the club I want to belong to, not 2 IQ points to rub together between the lot of them.

Why don’t they just pass a law doing away with the electoral college. Pass one unconstitutional law you might as well pass another.

The constitution holds no sway with Congress. They do what they want and twist meaning and logic like a pretzel.

The Electoral Count Act of 1887 (ECA) (Pub.L. 49–90, 24 Stat. 373,[1] later codified at Title 3, Chapter 1[2]) is a United States federal law adding to procedures set out in the Constitution of the United States for the counting of electoral votes following a presidential election.

The top of the GOP are corrupt, they are all in the same club at the top, they are not being played. They are playing the rest of us. We know, they know it and they don’t care. They want power and control and they have it. They will destroy the entire country to keep it.
