Former Trump acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney said Tuesday on “CNN Tonight” that he hoped former President Donald Trump doesn’t run for president in 2024.
Anchor Laura Coates asked, “If he were to run for re-election yet again, we don’t know if he intends to do that. If he is the RNC nominee, do you intend to vote for him?”
Mulvaney said, “I am one of those Republicans who hopes the former President Trump doesn’t run. In all fairness, we don’t need him anymore. He changed our party. We have a lot of folks, a new generation of folks, Ron DeSantis, Mike Pence, Mike Pompeo, go down the list of folks who could give us the same that Donald Trump gave without the baggage. As a Republican, I am thinking if the election were on today and Joe Biden was the nominee for the Democrats or Kamala Harris or Gavin Newsom, there is probably only one mainstream Republican who could lose, and that’s Donald Trump. Knowing what I know, I would be hard pressed to support Donald Trump again.”
He added, “I think we moved beyond Donald Trump clearing the field. I think that is one thing that the January 6 committee has accomplished.”
He concluded, “To the extent they wanted to wound him politically, I think that happened. There has been polling data recently, for the first time, says that a majority of Republican primary voters would prefer somebody other than Donald Trump. That’s a big change over the course ever the last six or eight weeks.”

That doesn’t REMEMBER ANY OF THE GOOD THINGS HE DID.
What an ungrateful SOB.
He didn’t have to contradict the Constitution, all he had to do was to say “Wait a minute, we need to sort this out”...but he failed because he ultimately had no honor or courage.

BINGO! Well and truly said and every word of it! RINO Poster Child!
The politicians (in case you’re wondering) are not going to save the Republic.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
The Democrats and RINOs have collectively become America’s most dangerous internal enemy, and if voters don’t soon wake up to that fact we can kiss our Constitutional Republic goodbye!
either this guy is right, or Trump is pretty crappy at picking subordinates. That latter thing concerns me more than “mean tweets.”
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.
Is Trump pretty crappy at picking subordinates?
To those who think he always picks the best people, consider: Mitt Romney, H.R. McMaster, Rex Tillerson, Reince Priebus, Omarosa, Michael Cohen, Bill Barr, Mike Pence, John Kelly, John Bolton, Jim Mattis, Jeff Sessions… need I go further?
I support MARIA: Make American RINOS Irrelevant Again.
Steve Bannon, Peter Navarro, Dr. Atlas, ALL still very loyal to Trump, DC is a cesspool u til Trump took office I honestly had NO IDEA just how bad it was!! DC is NO LONGER a voting problem DC has become an ENTRENCHED BUREAUCRAT problem!! These people in DC do whatever in the hell THEY DECIDE is best, I honestly don’t know how we fix this you can’t even get a FAIR JURY in DC!! The ONLY WAY I see to fix this is to BREAK IT UP!! Transfer ENTIRE departments across the country DIVIDE AND CONQUER I see no other way!!! Does Trump have the balls to do this I don’t know HOWEVER if anyone in the world would attempt to break the damn place up it would be Trump!!
With friends like these.....
McConnell would give Trump a list of names and tell him these are the only one’s who will be considered for confirmation. Trump was an outsider - that’s why we elected him. He needed Republican leadership covering his back. He didn’t get it.
Well, he’s not going to have it again. So if that’s why the swamp survived in his first term, it will survive his second.
No, Trump learned his lesson about the deep state betrayers. He learned it well. Time to clean house.
How long did it take him to learn that lesson, and where is the evidence he actually did? Because he kept making crappy appointments right through his first term.
So, who could he trust?
If he thinks Trump is mainstream, it calls into question everything else he says.
How about trusting his own judgment?
It was and will be his job to assemble people whose judgment he trusts. Candidates don't just get handed ready-made collections of trustworthy people. It is their job to find and develop such people over the course of their lives, so that when they get in office, they have an idea who they should appoint.
If you get elected without people that you personally trust to take important positions, that's your fault.
The fact that he mentions Mike Pence is a dead give-a-way. It’s kind of worrisome that he lumps in DeSantis with him.
The left hasn’t been in this much panic sense Lincoln freed the slaves.
And if McConnel refuses to approve his own judgment?
