If he chooses to run for re-election in 2024, he'll have to earn my vote--and focus on winning, on clear goals, that he'll take time to accomplish. If he cannot make the case, which should be easy after our experience with Biden and Harris, then that is on him.
We must pick a winner--Trump or whoever. We're not Kool-Aid drinkers, at least I'm not, so don't try and force that here on FR.
Look at illegal immigration--to kick out 30-60 million would take a big effort, Trump did not even get a start on that. He continued to issue work permits to those let into the US, a big lure if there was ever one. There were no round-ups around the country, never more than a trickle left. He claimed to hold countries accountable, but still traded and supported enemy India even when it dumped cheap labor on us and refused to take back deportees. H1Bs continued without stop--when Covid shut us down, they should have all been deported, absolutely none were. That is on Trump.
I'll support Trump if he runs, if he is clear on what he'll do and if he'll actually do it. Too many promises were ignored during his first term and everyone wants to make excuses for it. I'm tired of excuses.
Another thing, those presidential debates—how about some conservative or moderate moderators? Don’t even accept a stacked debate, no more Brazile and others. Better to skip the “debates” than participate again in that BS.
“....too cheap to hire good attorneys ...”
I don’t think he could get them.
I seem to remember reading about top attorneys getting threats from their respective law firms if they took up Trump’s election case.
As far as Trumps being poor with the picking of staff. Yes & no! Rats immediately fire all the US attorneys, and almost all agency heads from the DNI down to Fish & Wildlife. Then execute a plan to put their people in place below the agency heads as far down as they can get away with. GOP administrations rarely do this if at all. Trumps apparent naivety regarding the professionalism of the bureaucracy was worse than the average GOP administration but not by that much. Trump or any GOP’er administration needs to be as ruthless as the Rats are in putting their people in place. Professionalism in the bureaucracy died long ago. Key event was JFK’s EO allowing government unions and LBJ codifying it into law.
Not trying to force anything. We are engaging in discourse, which is what this site is for.
Nobody called you a Kool-Aid drinker, so don’t insult people by slyly insinuating that if they prefer Trump over another candidate, that is what they are.
You vote for who you wish.
Just be clear, this is what the enemies of this Republic want you to do. You can deny it, but if you do, you aren’t seeing clearly. That is exactly what they want. So do all you can to get your candidate elected, work on his campaign if you are the type to do more than keyboard warfare.
You may be tired of excuses. That’s fine.
I miss real results like a 3% GDP, low inflation, low unemployment, peace in the Middle East, hard line on China, withdrawal from useless climate and arms accords, initiation of building a wall, and telling the Left to go pound sand on a daily basis.
All this with both hands tied behind his back and even his own party helping to inhibit him, and even persecute him. So, Trump didn’t end slavery or give women the right to vote.
I don’t demand perfection, and I appreciate results in context even if others don’t. I have lived long enough to see both types.
