He would use the platform to push his message, increase viewership of his show, and sell books.
He can't use the platform of his show once he announces his intention to run. If his interest is pushing his message, increasing viewership of his show, and selling books, he should stick with the "platform" he already has. No?

The platform I was referring to is a presidential campaign.

He would have to suspend his show for the time being, but, in a campaign, he would be making the news, not presenting it (or, in his case, presenting his opinion).

When he pulls out of the race, he will be an entirely different person with significantly more influence around the globe.

Plus he will have an inside view of a presidential campaign.

His show (or a show) will be waiting for him when he is ready...if that is the direction he wants to go in.
