“The damning difference here is that in WWII precision munitions were not available so collateral damage was unavoidable.”

Huh? We went out of our way to kill as many civilians as possible. Nuking and firebombing cities.

But even to your point, Russian has no where near the precision weapons the United States has. They are actually using a lot of WWII munitions.

I disagree that the Russians are using WW II munitions. In fact, the Russians are using more precise munitions, overall, than the UFA. I think your overall points, though, are correct. The UFA HAS been embedding in civilian areas to use people as human shields. Even the UN has acknowledged that. Moreover, the Russians have been scrupulous about trying to avoid collateral damage. In this case, the story’s credibility seems questionable on its face. People should ask themselves whether it makes sense to spend a lot of money to deliberately target something of absolutely no strategic or tactical importance, especially bearing in mind Russia’s very small military budget (less than 10% of ours, not even counting the military budgets for NATO and Ukraine). The British tabloids have been over-the-top cheerleaders for this war and immensely unreliable.

Early in WWII we didn’t. Then the Axis powers started moving factories and warehouses into residential areas. It took until 1944 for us to bomb civilians and even then there was a destroying military infrastructure element to it.

When the Japanese refused to surrender we thought we could “horrify” the citizens into pressuring the government for peace by firebombing Tokyo. Didn’t work. If you read the Japanese editorials and communications at that time, they were prepared to sacrifice their entire society.

Like saying, I couldn’t CONTROL myself because your nation was moving forward, so I had to beat you up to CONTROL & STOP YOU!

To your point, “IF YOU CAN’T CONTROL YOUR WEAPONS STOP INVADING A SOVEREIGN NATION!!!”
