Our firebombing of Tokyo killed 130,000 civilians (more than one of our nukes). The two nukes we dropped killed The two bombings killed up to 226,000 people.

I saw a report from one of those B-29 pilots on that fire bombing raid that they say debris including a screen door floating at 16,000. The turbulence was so bad many thought the B-29s were going to fall apart.

Years ago I remember watching a documentary about the air war in Europe in WW2.

I'll never forget the comment taken from the diary of Lt. Bert Stiles, a bombardier in a B 17. Commenting on the realization that his bombs were falling on ''innocent'' civilians Stiles said "Tough shit''. War's a bitch. When you start one with the US there is going to be hell to pay.
