No Republican will ‘easily win’ a presidential race in the US. Ever.

Exactly. The Rat candidate starts with half the Electoral Votes they need, without having to spend a dime.

I’m more of a “There’s no other alternative”. The jury is still out in DeSantis, but other than that, who else is there.

And frankly, that means who out there actually wants the job?

We need an opposition party to the marxist-corportist alliance. We can’t just graft a MAGA candidate onto the top of the GOP and expect the swamp GOP (politicans, big donors, RNC, etc.) to change. They have proven they won’t.

You have a bunch of Freepers who’ve said that exact thing. We voted for him because of his policies, but wish he’d shut his yapper and quit shooting himself in the foot. So, we’d show up in polls as supporting him hate the democratic alternative, but we still wish he’d shut his yapper.

Every successful national level politician has his fan club. Obama was just as bombastic as Trump in his way and Democrats cheered him on. The real problem here is GOP voters who can’t see the forest through the trees and are easily manipulated by those that oppose the MAGA agenda.

The MAGA agenda includes Oz. Pro LGBTQ and child pro-trans. Others are new Rino’s replacing old Rino’s. Explain that because once you go there, you cannot take that ground back. It is folks like you driving us leftward off a cliff.

Trump would be 82 at end of term, which is too old to be chief executive of anything, let alone the United States of America.

If DeSantis runs against Biden in 2024, then DeSantis will easily win – he doesn’t even need to campaign.— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) July 12, 2022

Check my start date. I have been around for "awhile" and I don't buy this.I think this might be something "cooked" up between the two.

For Trump to suddenly call Musk a BS artist off the cuff at a rally then Musk responds Trump should ride off into the sunset? Musk could have said something A LOT worse. I think Trump is giving Musk "cover".

Trump was always bragging about Musk and Space X.Space X got it's contracts with NASA during Trump's presidency who could have "killed" the deal if he(Trump) really wanted to.

How many FReepers lap up every word that Musk says and insist he’s conservative and not like those other elites?

The real problem here is GOP voters who can’t see the forest through the trees and are easily manipulated by those that oppose the MAGA agenda.

Blaming voters because Trump says dumb stuff that alienates them isn't going to gain votes.

Look, you can't fairly blame this all on the MSM. Most of the Republicans I know don't trust the MSM, and dismiss their attacks on Trump as biased. But that doesn't mean they can't listen to his statements for themselves, using their own judgment, and determine that they were ill-considered and counterproductive.

I know a lot of people who were very strong Trump supporters who are just getting tired of him picking needless fights. Now, those people would still vote for him in 2024 because they so dislike the alternative. They're not the problem, but they are the canary in the coal mine. Because if he is annoying even those dedicated Republicans, then what is happening to all those more middle of the road, swing voterS?

“I used to respect you a lot. What happened to you? Got old? Got scared?”

Not old or scared nor do I ignore the high likelihood the 2020 election was stolen. It concerns me greatly the Republican leadership in Congress and the states seems to have little interest in the issue of ensuring election integrity in 2022 and 2024. Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy, not to mention at least half of the Republicans in the House and Senate could care less if the 2020 election was stolen and have no desire to make the steal, or ensuring election integrity going forward, an issue.

The current Trump spat with Elon Musk reminds is a vivid reminder Trump continuously personalizes every remark and engages in nasty public spats when there is no benefit from him doing so. Elon Musk gave an opinion regarding the 2024, that he feels DeSantis would be better for the country than Trump. That was Musk’s exercise of free speech, not a personal attack on Trump. What does Trump gain by attacking Musk? Nothing except once again reminding people Trump will spend time and energy on minutia to the detriment of the big picture.

Why take the bait? If Trump truly wants to be president his focus should be on the current president and the current ineptness of the Biden administration. The news that Biden is sending oil from the petroleum reserve to China, through a company which paid off the President’s son, is much more important to the people of the country today than a billionaire commenting on who he prefers for an election 2 years away. No one will change their vote in 2024 based on what Elon Musk is saying in 2022. Reminding people of the corruption they are currently suffering from under the current administration will have more impact on 2024 than fighting with Musk. Biden and the Democrats are dying the death of 1000 cuts. Better to keep those cuts bleeding by keeping them constantly in the news than engage in meaningless personal attacks.

As for Musk, he is currently playing out a long chess match to control Twitter and may still end up with the social media platform. If Musk gets control of Twitter, he will have the power to put Trump back on the platform or keep him off. Better to ignore Musk’s endorsement of DeSantis, and keep a good relationship with Musk than fight him in public on a trivial issue. In politics the person who opposes you today can be your best ally tomorrow and vis versa. Musk, due to his wealth, has tremendous power and could be an ally if cultivated. Why disparage Musk for favoring De Santis when we don’t even know if De Santis will run?

If Trump runs and secures the nomination I will support him. Today I just don’t believe he has the right temperament, the ability to assemble a powerful team of committed people to lead the executive branch, or the ability to get along with Republicans in Congress, particularly the Senate. Any Republican president who cannot work effectively with his party in Congress, cannot be successful as he or she will not be able to get legislation passed and critical appointees confirmed. There will be no funding for the border wall, there will be no support for dealing with the deficit, there will be no legislation to change civil service rules to allow the leftist social justice warriors embedded within the bureaucracy, and leading the military to be fired.

Our system under the Constitution has checks and balances. To pursue his agenda a president must work within the system of three equal branches. Trump cannot simply rule by executive order. The Democrats will be 100% against him. Less than five Republican Senators, voting with the Democrats, can thwart almost anything he desires to accomplish. Mitch McConnell, through his control of the Senate agenda, can thwart most of a president’s agenda, just as he did before. If Trump can’t work with the Republicans in the Senate and House, he will get nothing through Congress.

Being combative alone, isn’t going to fix the country. The next president must have a strong committed team, a well thought out program, and the support of Congress to execute it. Now is the time Trump should be assembling that team and showing himself as the statesman who can get the job done. Instead of scrambling the day after the election, like he did in 2016, he should be putting his shadow cabinet together today. I’d like to have confidence he can make better choices than he did throughout his first term. Showing the public a shadow cabinet of outstanding leaders committed to the Constitution, rule of law, and conservative principles would be a huge demonstration of his fitness for office.

By 2024 the 2020 steal will be old news. Half the people will believe the steal happened and half won’t. Trump whining about the steal will change no opinions, will not get the DOJ to investigate the steal, and will not convince voters he is the right person to lead the country. The 2024 election will be about choosing the person the people believe has the ability to put in place viable solutions to the country’s problems.

Is a 78 year old with a monster ego who likes to be publicly combative and makes lousy personnel choices the best person for the job? The truth is no one knows today. In a nation of 330 million people there must be hundreds, if not thousands of leaders who can do a great job. If Donald Trump is the only person who capable of saving the country we are sunk because we don’t even know if he’ll be alive to run in 2024 or if he will be physically able to run, much less if he has the temperament and skills to be successful in the environment he will face in 2024.

At this point I’d like to see the process play out and see what Trump looks like in two years as well as who else emerges as viable candidates. Two years is an eternity in politics. Will I vote for DeSantis over Trump if both are running? I don’t know the answer today to that question. It depends on what both candidates are saying and the situation the nation faces in 2024.

So, what do they want? There is never going to be the perfect politician. Whatever Trump’s faults may be, they pale in comparison with any of his contemporaries.

They want someone with Trump's policies but not his demeanor. Someone who doesn't avoid fights, but doesn't pick them needlessly.

I think the 2024 primary is going to be interesting. If Trump runs, he'll probably still win, but it will get really ugly and may cost the GOP the 2024 election.

Well wake me when you find such a candidate. I am open to the possibility of DeSantis, but it won't be at at least until after the midterms before I make up my mind on him.

I personally lean DeSantis, but again, guys like me aren't the problem. If Trump is the nominee, I'm voting for him. My concern is there are going to be a lot of "gettable" votes in 2024, and I am highly concerned that Trump may lose them. But you've got all these dedicated Trumpers convinced they are an absolute majority, and don't need any votes.

Not a good thing, because they just fan the fires.

DeSantis is the better bet all around, especially in terms of leadership and tact https://t.co/NwA0TGzbst— Tim Pool 🇺🇸 (@Timcast) July 12, 2022

Disagreed. https://t.co/OvxuijMhXP— Styxhexenhammer666 (@Styx666Official) July 12, 2022

Trump is toxic. He will bring out more Democrats than Republicans to vote.— Thomas Landers (@ThomasMBT1985) July 12, 2022

Do you genuinely believe that the legacy media would relent for even ten seconds on Desantis unless he's been astroturfed by the lamestablishment to begin with?

Anyone who truly rocks the boat will be pounded 24-7.— Styxhexenhammer666 (@Styx666Official) July 12, 2022

The demographic reality is that there are more Democrats.
Even if the media go against DeSantis 24/7 he won't turn out as many Democrats to vote against him as Trump.
It's about suppressing Dem turnout.
A few percentage points are enough to decide the election.— Thomas Landers (@ThomasMBT1985) July 12, 2022

False. The GOP has considerably more registered voters now and Trump has legendary in-party support.— Styxhexenhammer666 (@Styx666Official) July 12, 2022

DeSantis is the betterhttps://t.co/NwA0TGzbst— Tim Pool 🇺🇸 (@Timcast) July 12, 2022

Nope.— Styxhexenhammer666 (@Styx666Official) July 12, 2022

He does suck at hiring tho.— Daddy Texas (@Grynch999) July 12, 2022

Sometimes. Michael Flynn was a great hire. So was Bannon.— Styxhexenhammer666 (@Styx666Official) July 12, 2022

Trumps bad hires is why I kind of want DeSantis instead this time. God forbid I criticize him though.— Cassandra MacDonald (@CassandraRules) July 12, 2022

It's fine to criticize Trump but I worry Desantis is being astroturfed for a reason by the legacy media.— Styxhexenhammer666 (@Styx666Official) July 12, 2022

The flip flop is real. Just a few days ago, Tim said Trump was the better bet, because DeSantis is too corporate to do anything about the swamp.— Portuguese groyper (@ChristisKing123) July 12, 2022

Other than to pimp his own site

Not with him on this

5 Times Elon Musk Proved Himself to Be the ‘Bullshit Artist’ Donald Trump Described

https://www.breitbart.com/tech/2022/07/11/5-times-elon-musk-proved-himself-to-be-the-bullshit-artist-donald-trump-described/

The man is nothing but a venture capitalist that came from money and, in reality, is nothing more than a snake oil salesman.

Everywhere that government has taken away the tax breaks for electric cars, sales plummet. The industry itself seems to be on the downhill slide. And China, with its own EV company, just overtook Tesla as the #1 EV producer on the planet and they control over 80% of the minerals and mines needed to make the monstrosities.

Anwywho...Musk, like every other billionaire, has enough money to completely insulate himself from all the bad in the world. Bad that is created by guys like him with their control over the worlds politicians.

When the Twitter thing started, comments on here went on for a long time about how he was going to save ‘free speech’. I guess that’s exactly how snake oil salesman sell their snake oil.

As for Twitter, not sure what they’re thinking. Maybe the BOD wants to cash out, but, if they file a lawsuit to try and force him to buy, then Discovery is going to be a bitch. Twitter will have to provide all the information that he says he has wanted all along. And perhaps, its collusion with governments. When this started and they delayed and ignored, the only thing that came to mind was an article on Conservative Treehouse...

https://theconservativetreehouse.com/blog/2022/04/17/jacks-magic-coffee-shop/

It makes a lot of sense to me.

And because he got called out by Pres Trump, he’s throwing a bit of a temper tantrum. You see, people aren’t allowed to talk bad about the uber rich like Musk, Bezos, Gates, et al. We’re all peasants in their eyes. As for him cozying up to the GOPe, he’s just looking for friends to help him fight.

As usual u attack anyone not 110% fanboy just like folks here did with bush in the embarrassing Dubya years here when dissent brought howlin and her future wideswakes coven down claws beared in an instant pleading for JR and the silly Viking kitties cause someone said Bush was wrong

Incredible considering how Bush was viewed here 97-nomination to the ignorant who don’t know that history

One can support trump as number one choice for 2024

He is MAGA no question

But this fight with Musk gains him nothing

It’s just to push his site over twitter

Which is quixotic and a waste of his Q factor

In my opinion

It doesn’t mean we don’t value Trump as much as you do

It means we think it’s not his best use of time

Id be happy with musk flawed or not running twitter

Ditto trump running America

He’ll give him six years as king would suit he honestly

DeSantis as chief of privy council

I’m in

“ Did Trump call Musk a liar?”

Yes, it’s because Musk lied. He told Trump that he voted for him and recently declared that he voted Republican for the first time in his life when he voted for a congressional candidate from Texas. One of those statements is a lie.

Elon Musk is less of a BS artist than President Trump, and both are self-made. EV sales continue to climb, and Tesla's not been eligible for a few years now, during which time Tesla's built two new gigafactories trying to meet demand.

China's EVs have the same quality and design problems that their ICE vehicles have, and SpaceX dominates the launch business, and will continue to, growing that industry as it goes.

Musk was going to take over Twitter if his conditions were met. They weren't met because Twitter (as we all know) was run by leftist grifters. Musk wants Twitter to be a vehicle for actual free speech, and Twitter-banned President Trump had started his own forum to compete with Twitter.

Prior to Musk's offer to acquire Twitter, they were on the same side regarding Twitter. Trump's reaction was to Musk's emergence as a possible competitor, nothing more. He's said worse about his 2016 primary opponents.
