What probably will happen is that Texas will get a reputation among the illegal community that if caught, whatever life they have will be disrupted. Who wants to get in, get caught, be moved back to the border, released, get caught, moved back to the border, etc etc So better to come through CA - AZ - NM.
Another would be to drop off at the elected TX demonkrap reps (state and federal) neighborhoods, offices and homes.
The better would be to take them back to the border and make them go into Mexico. Force the ferals’ hands to make their DHS, FIB, come down and try to use force against TX national guard to protect illegal aliens. They might have problems in their own ranks. The US military can’t be used, not that they wouldn’t attempt it. You will watch a sea change in this country like not seen in a long time.

Closing the border is not a “broken immigration policy”, it’s a control immigration policy.
Kamala was tasked with the border issue, looks like she blew another one.
What do you mean by that? Isn’t it the purpose of our military to defend the United States from invasion? Or is it the US military only to be used to defend other nation’s borders or wage endless wars where we spend trillions of dollars only to lose?
I guess America isn’t ready for people like me. First, I want our border secured by the military. Build the wall and kill anyone illegally crossing the border at a non-port of entry. That will stop the in the invasion very quickly. Then we need an Operation Wetback II, where all illegal aliens are forcibly deported. The military would be central to that operation. To hell with the Posse Comitatus Act and any of its misinterpretations. It is not constitutional. It limits expressed powers granted in the US Constitution. The US military should not be used against American citizens. It should be used to repel and dispose of invaders. This isn’t rocket science. Leave it to lawyers and politicians to ignore common sense and ignore the constitution.

The US military may not be used against the Texas National Guard which would be protecting Texas from foreign invasion. This will take the issue to a whole other level.
Using the US military to protect our border from the illegal alien invasion would be constitutionally permissible in my view, even if the “invasion” is not a armed invasion. As you note, lawyers, politicians, and a whole lot more of anti-American people have said the military would not be constitutionally permissible. This has not been tested yet, but a state protecting itself .... moves it in that direction.

The problem is both president houseplant and Abbott have engaged in a political appendage measuring contest....houseplant to appease his radical leftist base and Abbott to obtain optics for an anticipated presidential campaign. Both are basically toothless and both are basically have no intention of placating their bases.
