Trump’s reception of Abe at Mar a Lago angered many... first of all our wingnuts who were running the Crossfire Hurricane spying operation against Trump, because the likes of Vindman, Neustar and so on were not able to listen in on meetings held at Mar-A-Lago and apparently their snoops and leaked couldn’t get in. They tried to claim that it was a securit breach on the part of Trump, but it must have been really secure since there were no leaks as there often were from White House meetings. The Chinese and others likely took it as an insult because they thought that by inviting Japan ahead of them it portends a change in US policy away from appeasing and coddling China. Russia and China and the Norks believe they should have a say in how Japan defends Japan. Note that there were several failed attempts to get into Mar-A-Lago using Chinese women.

Still no link to the actual source, for context, I see. Trying to paint the guy as anti-Ukraine and pro-Russia using one unsourced sentence extracted and isolated from his speeches. News flash... Abe’s relationship with Lithanian, Latvian and Estonian officials says a lot more, and Putin knows it. Russia being parked on Japanese territory while grabbing that of Ukraine was not going to win over Japan.

The same barbaric and soulless people that unleashed the Wuhan man-made virus upon the US and the world. Commie bastards.

Commie Japanese national? Possible I suppose but extremely unlikely. Like I said, the Japanese have very strong social loyalty to each other. If what you suggest is true, it would only come about from a university group. They are very actively monitored by authorities however.

Boris Johnson is out in the UK. The left is going after Trump to attempt to neuter him from running in 2024. Now Abe is assassinated. This stinks to high heaven.

China will just dump fentanyl into our public water supplies. What possible use could 7,000 tons of fentanyl be for if one ton could kill 100 million people with one dose?

Chinese made American rat poison and we are the rats. That’s what fentanyl is for.

Lots of speculation here because, essentially, “it seems to make sense” sort of reasoning.

For another viewpoint:

https://mainichi.jp/english/articles/20220708/p2a/00m/0na/030000c

“During questioning, the suspect cited the name of a specific religious group and said, “I intended to target this senior official (of the group).” The named official, however, was reportedly not at the scene at the time.

At the same time, the suspect has made nonsensical statements, and Nara Prefectural Police are carefully investigating whether he is mentally competent to be held criminally responsible.”

Can't be.

The commie suckups on FR just assured me that Abe was killed by Globalists and that China is on "our" side against the Globalists.

I think it was the same guy who tried to sell me on how wonderful and Christian the Chinese were. But that might have been another of their dear little propagandists.

Did teenage anarchists trigger World War I? What were the politics of the assassins of Franz Ferdinand on 28 June 1914?

https://libcom.org/article/did-teenage-anarchists-trigger-world-war-i-what-were-politics-assassins-franz-ferdinand-28

Gavrilo Princip, the other 19 year old who shot Franz Ferdinand dead, was also influenced by Kropotkin and Bakunin. And both men had read William Morris's News From Nowhere.

The democrats are the party of death here. They are behind all the political murders and violence in this country.

NPR says Shinzo Abe wasn’t just a nationalist, but that he was an ultranationalist, a word with decidedly negative connotations.

It’s about what you’d expect in a police state where getting on the king’s wrong side can get you vivisected for your organs. And the king’s right side is a ritual display of hate for whatever enemies, domestic or foreign, the king deems appropriate at a given moment. My guess is that the Chinese media has built Abe Shinzo up into enemy #1, a pinata for all of the grievances, real or imagined, promoted by Xi Jinping’s propaganda planners.

Ed Luttwak on Abe Shinzo:

https://twitter.com/ELuttwak/status/1546513585634959360
Working with Abe over several years was a pleasure. He had the easy humor of a man certain of who he was (grandson of a prime minister, son of a prime minister manque’). Ill-informed, the Chinese tried to bully him over the Senkakus. He brushed aside their attempt at blackmail

Based on Trump’s expressed interest in appearing at Abe’s funeral, I expect that the man was both charismatic and had the kind of personality that facilitated official interactions with an easy camaraderie. He was certainly the biggest name in Japanese politics and the power* behind the throne as leader of the LDP’s biggest faction when assassinated. Unlike Boris Johnson, he retired as PM only for health reasons, not because he was pushed out by party rivals.

* Since Abe left no issue, his three-generation deep political dynasty ends with him. More’s the pity, given their beneficial influence on the US-Japan relationship.
