How was marijuana made federally illegal? Directly by law, or by delegated authority?

The trend in legalization states so far has been to legalize drugs and implement more gun control. Then more voters turn to the left. Crime rates go up. Crooks take over and regulate more. Homelessness increases.

True. There are many here who take the libertarian or 10th amendment position on marijuana. They don’t want us to talk about whether marijuana use is dangerous or bad in any way.

Soros getting impatient? He is one of the biggest promoters of legalization, guess he has planned to make big bucks off of the results.

Wow new guy- are you one of those trolls whose strategy is: "I'm going to be SO extremely 'conservative' that I'm going to attack members of this board from the RIGHT. Hahahahahaha."?
Your attitude on this issue is left-wing, from an American perspective, and I'll say why, for the benefit of the non-trolls here.
The US Constitution gives the federal government absolutely NO power to regulate an individual's use of ANYTHING. Nor dictate what that individual can cultivate on his own property. There is no interpretation of the Constitution, the writings of the Founders, nor of anything they have said or written at any time that can be construed as support for ANY such power in the hands of the federal government. Wickard v. Filburn was a BS massive power grab for the feds, leading to the communist horror show that is the War on Drugs and it should be overturned.
Having said that, like with Roe v Wade, there is nothing preventing each of the individual states from outlawing marijuana and other drugs on their own. They can outlaw alcohol, too, while they're at it, but at least the representatives who do such a thing will be accountable to their constituents, which was the whole point of federalism in the first place.

Drugs are the major weapon being used by the Communist Party as they continue to take over our country. The commie RATS need everyone high, ignorant and happy as they continue to take our freedom away. CONGRATULATIONS POTHEADS!

That’s because many Freepers aren’t cool with living in a police state, regardless of the reasoning.

There’s something sinister about Energy prices, food prices, rent skyrocketing - and the “leaders” are pushing a drug that is connected to a lack of motivation and lack of initiative.
Failing schools, rising crime, promoting sexual deviation to children - hey, but we got you better access to drugs.
Doesn’t end well.

They’ll do anything to keep the people soft minded, addicted and pliable. This is a racist action aimed at harming the black community. They might as well use the CIA to drop crack in black neighborhoods. Why is “the party of science” trying to embrace smoking anything?

The substance in cannabis-bearing plants is just as intoxicating and permanently damaging to the human constitution and society as ethanol, much worse than tobacco which is also federally regulated. Banning it is at this point unenforceable. Rejection of it as a regulated poison should be the attitude of the federal drug agency as the substances spoken of.
