Within a couple of hours after the murders a caller to a local TV show was given a moment to say what they wanted to. The caller had just described their own experience at the parade, and how they ran from the sounds of gunfire. Instead of talking about the tragedy, or expressing support for those who were just shot, the caller said that it was time for gun control.
The local liberals had politics at the forefront of their thoughts before the blood was washed off the sidewalk, and while the victims were still in the ER.
