I found another video which begins before the first string of shots started. Definitely more than 11 shots in that string. Unfortunately it’s a twitter video and there are no controls to slow it down in order to get an accurate count.

Yet I agree with you about blaming “violence” on an inanimate object like a gun.
And, it has always struck me as strange that most people, including the media, NEVER claim “knife violence” when somebody hurts or kills a bunch of people by stabbing them.

That is true, but one step in the right direction might be to have politicians stop making laws every time a terrorist attacks. That only motivates more terrorists to follow in their footsteps.
Apparently it has never entered the heads of the Senators and Congress members rushing to pass new gun laws after a mass shooting that they are doing what the terrorist wants them to do.
The first string did sound like about 30. We can tell for a fact that the second string was 23 shots as the other video could be slowed down and the entire string was caught on that video.
I guess people don’t react because of normalcy bias. They just can’t comprehend or believe what is happening because it’s entirely outside their experience and expectations. Being the 4th of July might have added to that.
