Wickard v Filburn 1943 is the case where SCOTUS ruled that an Illinois farmer, growing wheat on his own land for his own use, with no intent to sell it, impacts interstate commerce. That ruling is what gives Congress the authority to basically classify anything, including you picking your nose in the closet with the light turned out, as impacting interstate commerce.
