Was she sworn in which would make her lies perjury? Congressmen and their aides are protected by the Constitution from prosecution for anything that they say in the Capitol, but I don’t think that she has this immunity.
Maybe they do not even swear in the witnesses so that the witnesses can also lie without fear of perjury.
