Back in 1891, in East Thompson Connecticut was 4 train accident. The local Freight train was switched to a track to keep from tying up traffic, but the dispatcher forgot the Southbridge local was on the track. They hit each other than a Boston bound Train (The New England Express) hit it (killing the engineer and fireman), then the Norwich bound train (Norwich Steamboat Express) hit the three other trains. Only 2 people were killed... 2 to many in my opinion.
The site today is a trail in the woods..
