Hundreds of irate protesters — egged on by socialist New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez — amassed outside the US Supreme Court building Friday to denounce the historic overturning of Roe v. Wade.
Additional cops were being brought in to try to keep potential mayhem at bay — a scene that was poised to play out at burgeoning protests in major cities across the country.
Outside the Supreme Court, AOC joined protesters around noon, using a bullhorn to egg them on and calling the decision “illegitimate.”
Local police units were on high alert for unrest as the crowds continued to grow around noon.
US Capitol Police said they were bringing in additional officers and are working with other law-enforcement agencies as they brace for a potential burst of unrest.
Fliers for protests from Philadelphia to Cincinnati, Ohio, were quickly advertised online after the ruling.
“Be prepared to defend bodily autonomy,” read one call to action for Des Moines, Iowa, later Friday evening.
Protests were rapidly organized in every major city in the nation, as well as in some smaller metropolitan areas including Boise, Idaho, and Morgantown, W.Va.
Police departments in dozens of cities issued warnings against violence or vandalism over Twitter and Facebook while reminding residents that they had the right to protest peacefully.

The dems will throw their hissy fit over the next few days. Then they will go back to their mom’s basement. Meanwhile, the rest of America will go back to paying $5 for a gallon of gas, high prices for groceries, and worrying about rampant crime. And that will continue every day from now to November.
In two weeks the polling data will show this decision ranked about 8th or 9th on the list of concerns of Americans, and it will have no impact on the midterms.
