Conservatives of all stripes need to get involved in local school board races. That is where the teachers unions mess can be fixed. Good for DeSantis.

Yes 1988 was the first ‘third term’ for one party. That was not clear (to me) in your post which was ambiguous as to what was the timeframe to ‘alternate’ parties. All good.

The ONLY thing that matters for future elections after the next R president, is eliminating ALL mail-in voting and centralized machine counting. If those aren’t done away with, democrats will make sure they win forever more.

Yep so it's not happening. If DeSantis really wants to be POTUS, he'll have to estimate whether Trump is going to win in '24. If Trump is going to lose, DeSantis might be willing to wait until '28.

If Trump is going to run in '24, I'll contest him for the nomination, if I were DeSantis.

Trump remains popular with MAGA because he is the original brand. But you have a good number of folks who's impressed with DeSantis' leadership in Florida, the fact that he is young and most importantly of all, no baggage.

We all love Trump but we know that he carries a lot of baggage. The Left knows how to attack him. DeSantis is relatively "new" so they haven't figured out how to neutralize him politically.

True, that.

School boards were targeted by commies some years back... Good for DeSantis - he’s right on this one.

He’ll have my vote then.

Unless you live in FLA You won't get a chance to do that until '28 because Trump is going to run in '24.

“He’ll get my vote then.”

Written in response to this sentence.

“Looks like 2028 is a promising year for DeSantis to go
national and declare his candidacy in the Republican
Primary.”

I agree with you, but I wanted you to understand what I was
responding to.

Oh yeah if Desantis is smart he will bow out from a ‘24 run now. He is a shoe-in in ‘28 if he does that.

I agree.

That could serve us well until 2036.
