President Biden on Monday praised workers at an Apple store near Baltimore that voted to form the first American union at the Silicon Valley tech giant.
“I’m proud of them,” Biden told reporters
“You know, workers have a right to determine under what conditions they’re gonna work or not,” he continued. “And I think the thing that everybody kind of misunderstands about unions, they tend to be, especially in the trades, the best workers in the world.”

Union Joe. Never met a union he didn’t like.
Kind of like Hunter & cheap hookers.
IN my younger years-—I was forced to belong to 5 different unions...including the UAW & Teamsters.
Had seriously rotten things done to the membership by the
staff’.
WILL NEVER BELONG TO ANOTHER UNION.
BIDEN WANTS EVERY SINGLE JOB IN THE USA TO BE UNION-—EVERY ONE.
I was in the Teamsters when Hoffa was on trial for STEALING OUR PENSION $$$$$$$.
The union ADDED $1 a month to all our dues to PAY FOR HOFFA’S LAWYERS.
Sorta like paying for your spouse’s lawyers in a divorce.
And that will happen
Those workers just took a paycut and they don’t even know it.
Jo Jo is “PROUD” of them. Just in time for LGBTQD Month. How did he know they were all “gay”?
Banana Republic Biden is an ass.
>> Unions are good
Not really. But I don’t GAS regarding the private sector.
It’s the public sector unions that must be outlawed. The taxpayer is not represented in the negotiations.
I agree with you there. Politicians NEVER have the taxpayers best interest in mind. On the left, they represent crappy u joins and graft. On the right, they represent coronet capitalism and graft. The taxpayer gets the shaft.
Operating Engineers.
Despite my general dislike for unions, I feel the collective bargaining is perfectly legit within the private sector — providing there’s no thuggery.
I’ve been self-employed for 40 years working 70 hour weeks on average. The union concept simply runs against my grain.
I have worked with members of your union. All excellent workers and dedicated to their craft. I also believe the union runs some of the best apprentice and training programs in the country.
That’s nice to hear from another part of the country.
These are not Apple workers.
These are glorified sales people.
I bet they are going to join SEIU.
Originally “Janitors for Justice” who used the same justification in Silicon Valley.
Only 7% of the US workforce is in union. That is good thing. If Apple “wokster” workers want a union then go for it. I look at Apple as a Chinese manufacturer anyway. It would not be the end of the world.
How are the unionization efforts at the Chicom Apple factories coming along?
