Thanks for the update and pic! Made me smile. Prayers continue.
During the last months of caring for my 89 year old mother dying of congestive heart failure there was a nurse coming to my home once or twice a week. In the last week of my husband”s dying of Alzheimers, a Home Hospice nurse came to my home daily and provided various home comfort items and some liquid morphine if he had pain. After he died, age 75, she came by and picked up the remaining morphine. This was 27 and 17 years ago, so I don’t remember how we ended up with those services. In my husband’s case it was probably through VA as he was a Korea veteran.
So grateful for the updates. Continuing prayers.
Fantastic news! :)
The VA will provide some home health care,
Visiting Angels is also an option.
God speed his recovery.
This is just wonderful. Jim looks great. Thank you.
Good news! Prayers up!
Another thanks to Jim Robinson for FreeRepublic, especially on this day of the overturning Roe v. Wade. I am continuing to pray for your full recovery, Jim.
WOOHOO! Love the pix and the great update!
Jim’s lookin’ good but he also looks like he’s ready to get outta there. Who can blame him? :-)
Fabulous! Praise God.
Prayers continue.
Keep getting better Jim, We need You back in the big chair !!!
Love the smile, miss the mustache.
Good news! Praying for a healthy recovery for you. You are needed in this nation.
Jim, if you read this, know you are so precious and loved by God, that, “Even the hairs on your head are numbered.” John and Chris, you too; thanks for manning the fort. Prayers ongoing.
Well, what do you know. You won. How about that?
Looks like Jim will be safe home in the comfort of familiar surroundings by the weekend.
Prayers can be a powerful force.
Thabk you for sharing that. Praise the Lord he is better and soon to return home!
If he has to rest in bed a lot after coming home, you may want to look at getting him an alternating pressure mattress topper to prevent pressure ulcers. I got one off Amazon for my elderly Dad for just $65 (including the electric pump) when he was bedridden for some weeks.
Or ask his home health nurses about what they recommend. His home health service may recommend a hospital bed for him with hospital-grade alternate flow mattress covered by Medicare.
They also make alternate flow cushions and special gel cushions for wheelchairs (costing between $130-$300). A tad pricey, yes, but well worth avoiding those horrible pressure ulcers. Again, check with his doctors and/or home health nurses for recommendations.
I hope this is helpful. We caregivers need to stick together and share information to navigate the system and get our loved ones the best care.
Great news!! Continuing to pray for Jim.
