How can it be Biden setting up another crisis in Kaliningrad when it has been Putin rattling his chain talking about repossessing Kaliningrad? As for hints that the US is going to be flattened so midterms won’t matter, I don’t think Putin is mad enough to have forgotten our nuclear armed submarines. I’m not sure he wants a flattened Russia as his legacy.
Putin is just a bully, and is just doing what bullies do. He will continue doing so until he is stopped or he gives up the ghost. It doesn’t help matters that quasi-NATO Turkey (yeah, Turkey is a full member of NATO, but is more closely aligned with Russia than the West) is blocking the Finns and the Swedes from joining NATO, much to Vlad’s delight.
Curious about your phrasing of it as “repossessing”; Kaliningrad (formerly known as Konigsberg) and the similarly named oblast already belong to Russia, and have been since Germany surrendered that territory after the end of WWII.
