I learned that the abused are seldom what we would call rational. Each one of them gets through it their own way. Some seek psychological help, most don’t.

Everyone deals with traumatic issues differently. Perhaps, Ashley may have it out of her system. Obviously, Hunter does not.

I don’t think Ashley has it out of her system, more likely she has made a sort of peace with the past. She has gotten to a place where she can live with things.

I don’t think Hunter ever will.
No doubt he’s had to go through his life constantly being compared to his big brother. It must hurt badly to constantly be compared to his “perfect” big brother.
As Joe gets older and the dementia has a greater and greater hold he will get meaner, especially, I think, where Hunter is involved. He will probably at some point scream at Hunter that HE should have died instead of Beau. The wheels will completely come off at that point.
