It was a Republic until Nov. 2020 and Jan 2020. Until then people were voting, via the laws of their respective state legislatures, which were overridden by Supreme Courts and Federal judges. Judges decided that existing voting laws, were inadequate, and had them ignored.
Then came the ballot box stuffing, the illegal donations, and illegal voting and moving boxes to Democrat offices (or in Wisconsin just letting them into the ballot rooms alone). That’s when we lost the Republic.
What we have now, isn’t a Representative Republic. Democracy, in a purely Constitutional process, was destroyed by ignoring the will of the voters and their immediate State Legislatures. So, it’s not a democracy either.
The best comparison would be made with a Government, with works closely with big corporations, for the progress of both. Fascism.
