The costs include the tank and installation, not just the propane. That’s probably to run whole house generators, heating and propane hot water. He’s prepared for when they intentionally turn off the power grid. He knows what’s coming.

It’s about a 6900 sq ft place, probably with 2 or 3 furnaces, a “barn” and garage (mostly likely heated) and a pool. I’m sure somebody from Hawaii prefers the pool water warm, and those things use a huge amount of energy to heat.

The property is on an island, so fuel is trucked in. I don’t think there’s much to see here.

It is a good illustration of the futility of the notion of “absolutely everything will be electric”, though.

A generator that runs on propane is where I would go.
It doesn’t turn to syrup in 6 months
