I’m so sorry Jim is going through such a difficult time and I understand about palliative care. I am sending prayers again for his healing and to return to a better time for him. I’m glad he has family who are there for him in this difficult time. My love to him and as I said sending prayers.

These will be tough days ahead waiting to see which direction the sepsis infection turns. Hopefully the antibiotics will be effective. I think he should get all the care at home that he can possibly get. Sunshine if possible…and fresh air. One day at a time. God, I’m praying every day.

UPDATE!

I spoke on the phone with a doctor from palliative care today. We’re going to have a meeting, in dad’s presence, tomorrow at 10am. He explained to me today the difference between palliative and hospice care, and that we have been on a life-prolonging treatment strategy. I’m going to tell him tomorrow, “Yes, let’s keep it a life-prolonging strategy.”
