True, and I wonder how many other towns would have ended up handling a similar situation just as poorly. Uvalde may have conducted a lot of active shooter drills but it looks like the lessons didn't sink in. Hopefully this isn't typical.

I sure hope you’re wrong about that. Nineteen cops stood in the hallway and did nothing as the children bled out and died - their screams and cries must have been horrible. Yet the cops just stood there. Lightly armed parents without any training would have went in. So I didn’t think this is a training failure. It’s a courage failure.
Bless those Border Patrol guys who went rogue, and took care of business.
I would add that a lot of people got complacent and lazy about doing their jobs. Nothing had ever happened so nothing ever would happen. Not a good mind set.
