The White House is afraid that the confiscation of Russia’s assets frozen due to sanctions could undermine the US’s reputation as an investment haven, the White House told the NYT.
The US is trying to see if the confiscation of Russian funds might encourage other countries to convert their reserves into other currencies and keep them out of American hands.
