“Open Primaries” make no sense...if going to do that at least skip the “primary”, just do a “general” and save millions of $$ in election cost.

I would like to see no primaries at all ...

have a free-for-all general and then a runoff between the top 2 if needed ...

eventually the 2 parties would fade ...

that's why they don't want it ...

That’s one way to keep the Democrats from choosing Republican nominees; but we’d need runoff elections where no candidate got more than 50%, lest we be governed by a plurality of Democrats who tend to splinter their votes less than Republicans.
