Serenity is a movie based on the series Firefly. It's science fiction and maybe the best sci-fi series/movie ever made. River Tam was a genius child who the government snatched up to perform experiments on her brain to make her the ultimate weapon.

While in their custody, she learned about a planet called Miranda, where the government introduced something into the oxygen supply intended to make the people more docile. It eventually made them so docile they laid down and died. Exccept for a small percentage that became Reavers who were beyond violent.

This article reminded me of that.

I highly recommend you give it a look. Firefly can be found on Amazon Prime, as can Serenity.

Also, you can watch Serenity without watching Firefly if you want, but I recommend Firefly first.
