Herschel Walker, former NFL player and Republican nominee for Senate in Georgia, is going viral for his nonsensical solution to mass shootings.
In an interview with Fox News during coverage of the shooting in Uvalde, Texas where 19 children and two adults were shot dead, Walker proposed a “department that can look at young men that's looking at women that's looking at social media.” It is unclear what Walker meant by the statement.
Walker was most likely referring to a conversation the shooter had with a woman on Instagram where he flaunted his guns and claimed he “had a secret” to tell her the morning of the shooting. In an Instagram story the night of the shooting, the woman said she did not know the shooter and said she lives in a different state
“What about doing that, looking into things like that?” Walker continued. “We can stop that that way. But yet, they just want to continue to talk about taking away your constitutional rights.”

Kemp is a solid Governor and candidate, for the sake of Georgia, may he beat Stacey Abrams. Trump pushing Perdue was as well thought out as pushing Walker.
I wonder why their ineloquence gets a pass?
Hell, talking stupid might be a plus for A-A voters!
True of most black politicians. Give Herschel a Chance!
I am already very old, thank God for that. I don't have too muvh more growing to do.
His ads have been terrible and he is a terrible communicator.
Explain how a “terrible "candidate" and “terrible” communicator wins a massive 68% of the Republican primary vote will you?
Pointing this out doesn't make me a troll.
You were a troll before posting that. It just made you a bigger troll.
Ok so he drops out. Can’t take the heat. Rookie. Who’s the next man up? Ralph Reed is out there somewhere.
Trolls suck
“if Google, Facebook and Twitter are already scanning everything that gets posted, and they are, filters for “shoot up the school” should be easy to turn on “Echelon” for them.”
Exactly my thoughts, but I had to wade through 49 posts to find it!
;)
You just said a few minutes ago, I needed to “grow up”
I clearly said “He won big based on name recognition and likeability”.
Mere name recognition doesn't win elections with 68% of the vote.
It doesn't happen often. Especially if he is a “terrible communicator” and “terrible candidate” like you claimed.
Terrible candidates simply don't win 68% of the vote no matter what name recognition they have. Try outting some famous ex NFL player on the ballot and see what votes they get.
“- I meant Walker might lose to Warnock.”
I don’t believe the people of Georgia will elect Warnock, a radical out of state Abram’s boy over Herschel Walker who was born and raised in GA and loves Ga and GA loves Herschel. The only thing for Herchel to win is that there is an honest election and no cheating. The democrats will do anything to defeat Walker... anything.
Just look at all the POS trolls now showing up all sites downing Walker... including here at FR.
“I’ve heard him speak lots of times.
He sounds great to me.”
I’m sorry to hear of your disability.
Remember when Biden called Obama “articulate?” That’s the thing Walker isn’t.
And just why would he “drop out”?
He “can’t take the heat” huh?
Have you played at the highest level of the NFL before?
Would you say President Trump was “articulate”?
You want a fast talking hustler go to Time Square.
Figured that’s what you meant
The problem is not that Oz is dumb it is that Oz is also about as principled as Romney. And as about as conservative as Pelosi
Walker’s answer wasn’t very clear, but given the explanation, it sounds like his mind works very intelligently and very fast. He’s just got to learn to slow it down for the rest of us.
The guy is a moron which is why I didn’t vote for him on Tuesday.
Having a modicum of fame in another area and name recognition does not make someone a good candidate for political office. Trump needs to remember that. But you're stuck with him now and I guess we hope for the best.
