“The defences of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on eastern front lines collapse. Russian-led forces broke through the AFU fortifications in the Svetlodarsk region, which has been one of the main strongholds of the Ukrainian military putting pressure on the Donetsk People’s Republic for 7 years.
On May 24, the city fell under DPR control, as well as the nearby villages of Luhanskoe, Vozrozhdenie, Roty, Krinichnoye, Vozdvizhenka, Mironovka. The AFU still hold their positions in Novoluhanskoe, but are reportedly preparing to retreat.
