Onlookers urged police to charge into Texas school

— Frustrated onlookers urged police officers to charge into the Texas elementary school where a gunman’s rampage killed 19 children and two teachers, witnesses said Wednesday, as investigators worked to track the massacre that lasted upwards of 40 minutes and ended when the 18-year-old shooter was killed by a Border Patrol team.

“Go in there! Go in there!” nearby women shouted at the officers soon after the attack began, said Juan Carranza, 24, who saw the scene from outside his house, across the street from Robb Elementary School in the close-knit town of Uvalde. Carranza said the officers did not go in.

Department of Public Safety Director Steve McCraw said 40 minutes to an hour elapsed from when Ramos opened fire on the school security officer and when the SWAT-like Border Patrol team shot him. But a department spokesman said later in the day that they could not give a solid estimate of how long the gunman was in the school or when he was killed.

Apparently so. Being cowards, as they are, it makes sense they’d have no allies.

Have you ever thought of signing up?

You really have no idea...do you.

Silencer's can be had...but they are very expensive.

They are not "machine guns"..do you know the difference?

Full auto guns are extremely hard to get and very pricy.....

This guy didn't have one....

The bottom line in your post is total BS.....and it's laughable....because you have to jump thru a hundred hoops to buy a fully auto gun.

This pussy nut job didn't have a full auto gun. Period.

Why don't you do some research....Heck, I'd help you.

No. Because, among other reasons, I have no desire to put myself in harm's way. And that's my point. If someone has signed up, and is taking taxpayers' money, then I think it's fair to expect that they not be gutless p*ssies. Why should that be so hard to understand, hmm?

The pols use and abuse them for votes, blacks rightly or wrongly are sick of them crawling all over their neighborhoods, whites don’t like the thug tactics any more than blacks do and see them as cowards and liars serving their unions and protecting their pensions.

Putting your child in a public school is putting them in harm’s way.

“If someone has signed up, and is taking taxpayers’ money, then I think it’s fair to expect that they not be gutless p*ssies.”

But you won’t do it yourself. Gotcha.

The City of Uvalde, Texas has a police budget of $4.4 million/year, accounting for fully 40% of their FY2022 municipal budget. The cops waited an hour for the feds.

There was a school resource officer at Columbine High School when the shooters there opened up at arriving students in the courtyard. He immediately took the shooters under fire at about 15-20 yards, over the heads of dozens of screaming, running and crouching students, and the perps returned fire until the officer hit one of their rifle stocks with his service weapon. Then they ran inside to get away from him. He didn't pursue because his department's policy called for him to instead report the incident ASAP and call for backup.

The Columbine officer saved perhaps 8-10 students from being shot in the courtyard. Whether in hindsight he should have immediately pursued the perps, with only his service weapon and limited ammunition after the first engagement, is something to be determined only by God.

Several cops standing around, slinging AR’s while wearing ballistic vests and their Rambo gear.

Hindsight is 20/20. I’m not into football at all, but what’s that term called? Monday Night Quarterbacking? Something like that.

Like that the cops had the urgency to use police tape to secure the area while a active shooter is in progress.

Noted that they took down at least one male parent trying to cross their line.

Can’t have that during Police Activity.

The part that I most DON”T understand is why on Earth the school was not totally locked down immediately once the police were after a known shooter anywhere remotely near the school. My wife teaches at a small private parochial school (two classes per grade level, 30-40 students per grade level). If there is any kind of police pursuit of a dangerous person in the area, the schools (not just my wife’s) are notified and they lock down, with all doors (all pretty substantial, BTW, @ my wife’s school) barred. A shooter “could” get in — if he has a quarter stick of dynamite or equivalent with him/her...

I’m told that it’s 60 seconds max from the time the officer calls in the encounter / chase (etc.) to dispatch, to the time the school is clammed up. And really, properly organized and planned / set up, in 2022 there is no reason it should take any longer.

I don’t know about now, but back in my youth in Oregon, the Winchester Model 94 in .30-30 was the most common patrol long gun.
If you grew up with one, like many of us did, and practiced with it, you would not be underarmed today. My opinion.

All these “good guys with guns” and not one of them had the ability (or guts) to stop one bad guy with a gun? Something is not right here.
