Just finished Bruce Catton’s book on the Civil War. He certainly didn’t mince words about how incompetent Bragg was. He was kinder to Hood and Johnston.
Catton LOVED Nathan Beford Forrest though. It’s as if J.E.B. Stuart never existed.
It’s not like the Yankee Amry didn’t have it’s share of knuckleheaded generals.
