There were two resource officers on campus during the Sandy Hooks shooting. Having a gun and a badge doesn't make you superman. What they need to to really promote the Texas law that allows teachers and staff to carry weapons after they have the special training. My district does this, and they have periodic drills to maintain their proficiency.
I agree, teachers should carry guns. They don’t in my district. When my kids were in school I never felt they were safe. I almost pulled them out because of it several times. My children are now adults. They did have resource officers on campus, but I would have like teachers to be armed. So sad.
