I saw a similar sign today. It advertised a pig farm opening on the outskirts of town. The sign also said something about a turned down zoning request.”

I saw that at a place right next to a highway in a growing suburban location 30 years ago. It was a 400 acre farm with prime commercial road front. The county denied the rezoning request so the farmer put up a fence and stocked it with a couple of dozen sows with a sign saying it was lawful under the current ordinance.

It lasted for a year before being rezoned. The entire farm is now shopping centers, subdivisions, apartments and soccer fields.
