Australian voters have delivered a sharp rebuke to the center-right government, ending nine years of conservative rule, in favor of the center-left opposition that promised stronger action on climate change.

I don't know anything about Aussie politics since George W was president and the Aussie PM was a good ally. But I'm guessing there's not a roo's difference between the center-right and the center-left, and the crowing of the climate changers is greatly exaggerated. And just how would climate change (if it exists) effect The Outback?!

All the climate change fanatics are going to run up against the backlash of higher prices for goods. Australia is very diesel dependent (diesel is already way up) due to long distance freighting by the trucking industry. We’ve seen this greenie/Labor marriage before. Give it 12mths and reality of blue collar discontent in labor heartlands will reign Labor in and skuttle too close an alliance with the poodle set in inner city green strongholds
