I see the West's/NATO's response to Ukraine as something being watched very closely by China. A passive response would be much more likely to encourage Chinese belligerency, based on a belief that the West has no stomach for a conflict.

You may disagree with that opinion, but we at least agree that opposition to China is critical.

I utterly disagree. Sure you don’t want to project weakness, but getting bogged down in Ukraine is an open invitation for China to take Taiwan and step up the pace of taking down the US by disrupting our supply chain and cutting us off from essential things.]

The US does not need to prove stomach for engaging in armed conflict. We have been doing it since the end of WWII. We have spread a lot of death and destruction. The only thing we haven’t done is actually establish permanent control on the ground. In this last we have been beaten back every....single...bloody....time.

We did our supply chain eff-up to ourselves. It’s one of those things we never should have gotten into in the frist place - like Ukraine.
