Executive order requires (NYS)troopers to file for Protection Order under Red Flag Law whenever they have 'probable cause'

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Gov. Kathy Hochul Wednesday unveiled a package of several new gun control executive orders and bills that she says is a direct response to the mass shooting that happened in a Buffalo Tops on Saturday.

One of her executive orders signed Wednesday will require State Police to file for an Extreme Risk Protection Order under New York State's Red Flag Law whenever they have probable cause to believe that an individual is a threat to themselves or others.

Hochul is also pushing for the Legislature to pass a bill that would require semiautomatic pistols manufactured or delivered to licensed dealers in New York to be microstamping-enabled. Microstamping marks bullets and cartridge cases with a unique fingerprint each time a gun is shot so that when they are recovered, police can link them to a specific gun, a bill that would widen the legal definition of a firearm to close what she called the "other gun" loophole, and a bill that would require all law enforcement agencies to report the recovery of any crime gun within 24 hours.

I live in Maine and there is no gun registration. What is this registration that you are talking about?

“A lot northern New Yorkers have their guns registered in Maine or New Hampshire and stored in Vermont. They ain`t stupoid.”

Can you clarify that? None of those states, like most states, have a gun registration requirement and I would venture to say they don’t even have a process for it.

You knew the communists wold jump all over this. The dumba** New Yorkers have voted for the commies and now are leaving the state in droves. They should be made to stay there and suffer the consequences.

And this sort of tyranny is why we left NY for freer pastures.

I was sitting in a medical clinic today, drinking contrast liquid for a set of CAT scans, and this witch was on the TV in the waiting room. I had all I could do to keep silent, and not respond to the things she was saying. She claims she wants to prevent crime, but New York City has a no bail law that allows known violent offenders, to be caught and released so they can go back out and commit more violent acts. How is that preventing crime?

Sharpton was there, and spoke about white supremacy, and the history of the Klan. Of course no one bothered to mention that blacks have probably killed a larger number of blacks than the Klan ever did.

Hochul and Cuomo, are responsible for closing 5 prisons in New York State this year. They also released many inmates whose sentences were cut short. Some were released because of the Covid lockdown, while others were released to make room at other prisons to accommodate the inmates in the prisons that were being closed. How is that preventing crime? Prison is supposed to be a deterrent. How can it be, when they aren't even required to complete their court-ordered sentence, that they were given as part of a plea deal? Nobody does the time for the actual crime they commit anymore because of plea deals. Criminals make out like bandits, and the victims, and their families never get justice.

Hochul also mentioned mental health services during her speech. This is another area where Democrats have failed the people of New York State. Both Governor Cuomo's closed multiple state psychiatric centers, and dumped the residents onto the street with little or no supervision. When they closed the psych centers, they turned several of them into prisons. Many of those former psych center residents eventually ended up in the State's prison system. I know, because I worked 25 years as an officer and Sergeant in that same prison system. The Criminal Justice system in the State of New York has been broken for a very long time. Another piece of legislation isn't going to fix it. They will pass stricter laws to use against law abiding citizens, but then will allow the actual criminals to run amok in the streets. How is that going to prevent crime?

“witch” is too nice a word. Hubby and I use a DIFFERENT word and it doesn’t rhyme with “witch.”

Most of UPstate is RED. Hubby and I are to the right of Genghis Khan. Downstate city/suburbs, upstate cities and tompkins county are leftard cesspools.

If Downstate is so reliably lib, why did Deep State shove RCV down NYC voters’ throats...?

Yep. In my regular 8-5 job that I’m retiring from mid Nov, I work almost exclusively with LEO. Most of them are whack jobs.

I’ve witnessed cops in their non-public facing side play with their guns, talk about how they can’t keep their hands off strippers at clubs, and so on. They really are the worst of the worst and need to be disarmed first.

Henry’s head office is in Wisonson and believe it or not their manufacturing is in Bayonne New Jersey. I don’t think they have anything in New York any more.

Hope it works out for you.

Have you started doing online searches for property?

Visiting an area can give you a good idea of the better places to live, too.

Looking at realtor listings can give you an idea of water quality, too. Here in NH many places have water that is hard and high in iron. Seeing the water softeners and iron treatment tanks in the listings was a big clue. Unfortunately, that doesn’t tell us about arsenic and radon, which can also be a problem here.

However, God blessed us with a place that has fantastic water. We had it tested and could bottle it and sell it.

Upstate is a very pretty area. I fell sorry for you that you are stuck in a state where a few big cities will manufacture enough votes to do whatever the want. I am afraid we are all headed that way if current trends continue.

Cuomo was a tyrannical Leftist who contributed to the deaths of seniors during Covid, he was corrupt and maniacal.
He was a gun grabber and hater of anything conservative.

Hochul is worse.
