Sweden and Finland joining NATO. It is clear that the plan will go down the drain if Turkey vetoes this move.

The author is naive. I don't care what NATO's Charter says, the US deep-state will make Sweden and Finland are in, whether its de jure or de facto.

Alternatively, because there is no mechanism to boot anyone from NATO, you could see the formation of a separate Alliance to includes Sweden, Finland, and the rest of the West, until other current NATO members decide that NATO is superfluous.

And Turkey is left as the last member of NATO, all by itself.

Yeni Şafak (”New Dawn”) is a conservative, Islamist Turkish daily newspaper. The newspaper is known for its hardline support of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the AK Party and has a very close relationship with the Turkish government.

Yeni Safak is a Turk, so this one-sided article should be read with that in mind. He is pro-Turkey down to his toes.
He is of course very anti-Kurd. He wants Turkey to shake down NATO and the West (the author gives himself away with his “Anglo-American” jab).

At this point, the threat of Sweden and Finland joining NATO and the ongoing process is just as effective as the actual membership, sans the missile build-up. The NATO nations should drag this on for a while.
