You are making no sense at all. Now you accuse me of being a “ChiCom”? On what basis? Find anything, ever, in my posts sympathetic to the CCP or communism. You will find the opposite, FRiend.
You know nothing about me. I happen to have lived and worked in countries newly recovering from commie rule and I probably detest communism more than you do. I have seen first hand what it does to human beings.
Thanks for saying that. I’m sorry if I got the wrong impression.
Your ideas of resentment, FYI, are the sort of things ChiComs say. It’s nonsense. That’s why I got the impression.
If anything the newcomers resented Taiwanese, thinking they were too Japanese. They’d just been fighting the Japanese for years.
Some Taiwanese did resent the Chinese government that took over for suppressing Taiwanese language and certain Taiwanese specific religious practices.
This is true but is exaggerated I think a bit from leftist types.
But there could be real oppression, prison and death, if the government was criticized about this.
The Chinese who went to Taiwan after the war and after 1949 had all the power and they used it.
