Re: 189 - I want to know. Where in the hell are the parents in all this?
What guardrails and rules did they have for their son? He seems to have had unfettered Internet access - and that without context and lack of critical thinking skills is a recipe for problems.
A note that based on his manifesto, this loser bought a NY MSR, which had been made NY compliant post-production, then modified it to accept a detachable magazine, and made some other modifications.
So the MSR he used was NY compliant - when he bought it.
Given that he supposedly got sectioned last year after threatening to shoot up high school graduation ceremony, the parents had to know he had real mental issues that centered on violence and mass shooting fantasies.
Maybe they convinced themselves it was just a phase, or he was just joking or whatever. Or maybe they tried to get him help, but once he turned 18 were unable to force it on him. I wIsh I could remember now which case it was, but some years ago there was a tragic case of a mentally ill young man whose family members knew he was a ticking time bomb and went to great lengths trying to get him into mental health treatment, but the laws were against them, and sure enough, the kid wound up killing a number of his fellow human beings.
I can’t help wondering where he got the money for the fancy guns, mods, body armor, etc., though. How much did all that stuff he bought cost?
