Now if there was an Adult Diaper shortage I bet he would hurry
Next he’ll blame the formula shortage on men getting pregnant.
Since when is baby formula a president’s responsibility?
This is a fake problem.
We have what is basically a Soviet-style system for baby-formula
Two big companies control about 80% of the market, and 3 companies control about 98% of the market
Fed.gov buys over half of all baby-formula, for Foodstamp/WIC users. Fed.gov contracting and price-bids, and FDA hyper-regulation, have basically made sure its impossible to have new entrants or free-supply of this.
There is a solution. I know some women cannot breast feed but surely God created such a process for a reason.
President is head of Fed.gov, which basically sets the price through massive USDA welfare purchases, controls the amounts of production, and tightly regulates the suppliers through the FDA.
Thus, its a rigged-market which by default becomes Fed.gov / Biden's responsibility. If you think its a free-market, you are wrong.
Ain’t no Operation Warp Speed on this issue for sure.
I think you’re right. And anyone who has prepared and stocked up will be called “selfish”.
The age-old solution for women who could not breast feed was the widespread use of “wet nurses.” These surrogate women could feed your baby breast milk if you could not.
It could be cheaper to pay wet nurses than to pay outrageous prices for baby formula. It also gives income to women who may not have sufficient income.
Scott Lincicome said Congress must repeal or suspend the tariffs. Biden can do something (but not enough) about the FDA-s excessive requirements.
Every woman who can try should try.
Formula should be a last resort, not the first one.
What’s ironic is how everyone is all freaked out about the mother and her problems and convenience, and few people even address the benefits of it for the babies.
Breast feeding is by far and away superior to any other supplementation and yet we’re subject constantly to the drum beat of discouraging mothers from even trying it by giving continual examples of women who can’t, so why even bother trying. Give up before you even start.
What people don’t realize is the health benefits even a few weeks of breastfeeding gives the baby. If some needs to switch over to formula later, that can be done, and the baby still reaps the benefits.
Besides, a widely ignored fact is that breast feeding is very protective against breast cancer.
And a hoarder. Don’t forget the implied innuendo of that overused word.
When he takes a food item in short supply and gives it to illegal alien invaders who should be deported before their babies get hungry. There is no formula shortage in Mexico.
Yes, I’ll bet these days they could be on everyone’s cell phone. You could just scan it at the checkout and entrance to the supermarket or gas station.
Dang... where could they get something like that... someone would have to develop it. I bet that would take some time.
No... wait...
The world is full of quality baby formula. It doesn’t get imported to the US because of punitive tariffs and the FDA screwing the importers with ridiculous demands and a slow process.
Decrepit Old Fool knows the media are working hard to put the blame on anyone but Decrepit Old Fool. He doesn’t care about Americans. He doesn’t have to win their votes - elections are stolen.
He does care about illegal immigrants! He promised to let millions come into the country, and he is fulfilling his promise. Otherwise he would be told to resign.
Excellent point. They would probably like to make it illegal.
