Our news is ‘curated’ because we cannot know the full truth. Does this remind you of anything recent?
We only hear one side, because the other side has been deemed to be BAD. One of the few exceptions is Vice News, who has a reporter behind Russian lines.
People interviewed on the street may not be an accurate gauge of sentiment, but I was surprised how many were in support of Russia.
Ukraine....where U.S. politicians have been laundering huge sums of taxpayer money for decades.
This war is a sleight of hand, to cover up what’s been going on over there.
Bidens, Clintons, Romneys, Pelosis, Schumers, Schiffs, Bushs, and the list goes on forever.
Last ditch effort to fill their retirement coffers this money is payoff laundered money. We need a military tribunal and a commission to investigate prosecute and convict many in government dating back years and across the board. If we don’t punish we will relive
This is the neo leftist isolationist game.
Oh, the Russian attack is a horrific crime against humanity and unforgivable aggression BUT....
And then fill in the blank. Now it’s we need baby formula.
The idea that we can’t supply weapons to stop Russian aggression in Europe and deal with a baby formula crisis and every other crisis, is absurd.
And the nuclear war with Russia risk will dramatically INCREASE after a Russian victory.
Their whole lesson is, let the bully win or the bully will attack us. That has never been true and defies human nature.
Russia started a very dangerous war in Europe. Russia needs to lose that war.
That’s what will enhance our security and protect humanity.
These “conservatives” have become the anti Vietnam left, who also constantly claimed Nixon was “widening” the war (as the communists widened it and he responded) and that we were going to cause WW3 by resisting the communists.
They demanded that we lose Vietnam after it was won, and they caused the killing fields holocaust in Cambodia.
It is a mistake to assume that the desired outcome is driven by leaders of the US or Europe. These people, and analysts, whatever, need to check with Ukrainian public opinion. That is what will determine when the war will end.
In nearly all cases what drives wars is what masses of people feel. Leaders are more driven than leading, and their role is constrained by that. Some just pretend to lead the parade that started without them, some try to be the traffic cop that bends the mass from one route to another - and that takes vast skill and luck. Some try to stop the march, and are usually trampled. And when the march changes course, or stops, would-be leaders are often left isolated.
The Ukrainians at the moment seem to want all their land back. If they get it the war is probably over as far as they are concerned, no matter what anyone else plots or fantasizes about Russia. Or the Ukrainians may grow war-weary and accept whatever the status quo is at that point, again overriding anyones plans.
Zelensky, like most leaders, is mainly driven, not leading. And I think he is smart enough to understand that. Negotiation on a basis contrary to the wishes of his people is a no-go, and so he cannot negotiate.
Personal guess is the Ukrainians (collectively, not just their leadership) will be satisfied after regaining Kherson Melitopol and Mariupol, or in short restoring the situation as of February 2022.
Without an audit we don’t know where the money is going.
