I'll wager I've engaged in a hell of a lot more successful negotiations than you have. The key is to know which side actually has the leverage, and in this instance, it isn't us.

The reality - as much as you may not like it - is that you don't have 40 Republicans willing to kill aid to Ukraine over wall funding, and there is absolutely no way the Dems would agree to wall funding. So what we get is some drawn-out statement of principle from Republicans saying they never agree, and then Democrats with enough Republican support would end up ramming through what they what they want anyway.

The truth is that funding for Ukraine has broader support than does the Wall - majority in both parties. That's why holding it hostage is a doomed effort.

If you actually had negotiated anything, you wouldn’t be so ready to ignore the leverage in hand. OR, you take the first crumb your counterparty drops and walk away happy while the counterparty laughs their a$$ off.

To what "leverage" are you referring? It doesn't do much good to have 50 "Republicans" when both we and the Democrats know there are enough who will cross to approve Ukraine aid.

I no point in handing them a political victory to crow about by fighting a very public battle we know we will lose ahead of time.

I mean, think logically for a second. If there were enough GOP votes/will to hold legislative items hostage for the wall, don't you think we would have done it at some point during Trump's term??

Pointing out Crenshaw's vote, however many times on this subject he voted with President Trump, without acknowledging the fact that a large number of GOP members, both House and Senate, refused to back President Trump on his effort to build the wall is disingenuous on your part!

Read the thread title! This thread is about Crenshaw, so of course I'm focusing on his vote, you idiot. If you want to blame all those Republicans who didn't back Trump on the wall, fine. BUT THAT IS NOT THIS THREAD.

Also, by your logic, MTG is as equally responsible as is Crenshaw for all those Republicans who didn't back Trump on the Wall. So who is she to open her pie-faced yapper?
