Not sure why its “unthinkable.” The Spanish Flu took out the equivalent of about 5 million between 1918-1921.

We can debate the origins of Covid and the stupid policies...but the once in a generation/100 years pandemic can be brutal on an urban economy. It is very “thinkable” and very predictable.

Folks saying it isn’t are either being disingenuous or just plain ignorant.

My dad was in his late teens going on twenty when that was
going on. None of the family died from it but they were in
the country with little contact with the mass populations.
